Men's Association Results 10/16

There were some low gross scores today! Rob Langdon shot an 80, Paul Neumann shot an 81, and Kevin Kripaitis and Ron McGaw shot 82. Very nice shooting.

In first place (gross) Bud Jones and Rob Langdon won with 33 stableford points, and in 1st place (net) Rick Ponton and Ron McGaw won with 64 stableford points. They were awarded $16.25 each. Paul Neumann took the CTP on #13, and Carl Vollmer took #17, both were good for $10.
Skins paid out $13 each, with 5 total being distributed. Rob Langdon’s gross birdie on 1 and birdie- net eagle on 16 both paid off. He was today’s money leader, taking home $42.25! Kevin Kripaitis had a par for a net birdie on #14, and Bob Davis’ gross birdie on #10 also held up. Paul Neuman’s gross birdie on #4 paid off $13 in addition to his $10 closest to the pin. Clearly, it pays to make those CTP putts.
Here is our top 10 going into the final round next week
1 Rob Langdon 310
2 Kevin Kripaitis 302.58
3 Paul Neumann 289.25
4 Mark Turley 277.67
5 Ron McGaw 270.5
6 Bud Jones 246.5
7 Rick Ponton 245.41
8 Carl Vollmer 238.25
9 Bob Davis 206.83
10 Bob McKee 179.5
Rob Langdon has extended his lead to 8 points, with Kevin Kripaitis still well within reach of first place. Paul Neumann (3rd) didn't edge any points on the leaders this week. He is 14 points outside of 2nd place and 21 points outside of first. He can still make a breakaway for the lead with a favorable finish next week. Mark Turley and Ron McGaw both made moves up the board this week, closing in on the 3rd place position in a tight race for 4th (worth $100). Bud Jones and Rick Ponton are separated by just 2 points, locked in a battle for 5th (worth $60). Next week’s individual format will not be split among teams like this week, so bigger point jumps are more likely, and a number of players are still within that top 6 payouts.

Next week, our first Player of the Year Trophy will be awarded to our first-place finisher! The top six P.O.Y finishers will also receive a cut of the $800 purse below. Of course, if you are outside of the top points earners, you are still encouraged to play; the $5 entry fee will be distributed as usual to the low gross and net scorers the same day.

2019 DBCC Breast Cancer Charity Golf Outing

Words cannot express the thanks that we, this year's Breast Cancer Committee; Bobbi Donley, Judy Duffy, Suzzanne Hallock and Kathy O’Halloran would like to extend to all that participated in our Plantation Lakes Breast Cancer Charity Event this past weekend.

We are so very grateful to all of the homeowners who so generously donated baskets or their time to help at our event. We had 55 walkers, 146 baskets and 61 golfers for the major portions of the event. We were amazed at the many people who came to purchase raffle tickets; to the area businesses that donated baskets or were a sponsor; to the golfers who participated in the golf tournament and to those who sponsored golf holes or donated prizes.

Our event couldn’t have happened without our many volunteers who jumped at the chance to give us a hand in some way; our “beggars” who went to businesses and got them to donate and to everyone who worked at the event and behind the scenes. Our HOA Management Team of Icon as well as Lennar supported us each and every step of the way. We thank you all.

We had hoped to surpass last year's total, which was $14,590, and aim for $20,000. And we DID IT!!! We raised $25,375 for the Delaware Breast Cancer Coalition and presented them with that check yesterday at the golf outing.

Ready to start planning next year’s event.  Mark your calendars for October 9, 10 & 11.
